Thanksgiving - finally!

Emily and I have been asked to join the fabulously famous Halblog! We will be posting pictures from the "other" Portland and sharing our adventures on the West Coast. I am looking forward to sharing a blog with 3 wonderful people on the opposite side of the country - too cool! We hope you will enjoy this new addition to the Halblog as well ( :

The post is called "Thanksgiving - finally!" because I have been meaning to post about our trip to Ceour D'Alene, ID for a while now. We had a great trip to Idaho with two of our friends. We stayed with Carly and visited Uncle Matt's school, sailed in his boat with the snow and enjoyed great food provided by the talented chef Jennifer! There was also a trip up to Sandpoint for tea and books, outstanding fireworks, a light display and a holiday parade that included Shane standing on a Fire Engine - too cool! We also saw the new Bond movie Casino Royale, we were all fans. I actually think it may be my favorite Bond movie! Anyway, enjoy the mish mash of pictures.

Love to all,
Maighie

PS - Mike and Sheila, do you think I could move my flickr badge to your blog main page? I don't know if that's possible...let me know your thoughts ( :

Sailing in Idaho? Honest question: does stuff grow on the bottom of the boat still, even in cold lakes? I'm guessing maybe some grass or slime, but not barnacles and the sort... I'm genuinely curious.

Maighie, can you email me the code you get from flickr? I can just copy paste it into the template.

Great pictures! Looks like a fun trip.

Eric, I think I can answer your question about slime growth on the bottom of boats in cold water with just a few words: I don't know.
