Summer Vacation

Claire graduated from preschool this past Friday. Its hard to believe she'll be going to Kindergarten this fall. She's ready, and we're both excited, but I'd be lying if I said my chest didn't tighten up a little when I think about walking her to the big K-5 school down the street in three months. Time flies.

I've been spending a lot of time throwing pots, glazing, and firing or reading about it. I've been going about some parts of the whole throwing process the hard way, without really knowing it. Its amazing how changing a technique to make something easier instantly makes it more difficult, until you 'get it' again. Its a good thing clay is recyclable.

Thanks. I was tired of the old colors. Black is kind of dark for summer, but its definitely a change!

I wanted to be an astronaut when I was Claire's age too!
Came close, but in the end, not so much...

I didn't know that Monnie! I'll have to tell Claire. I don't remember wanting to be anything that specific when I was that young (much less at my current age) but I really like that two of the kids wanted to be Super heroes.
