Claire is trying to look so innocent and the dog looks like it's really holding back. I would have to guess that the doggy was secretly slipped some cheese when no one was looking. That's what I would have done if I were Claire...
I'm pretty sure the dog had a few Thanksgiving treats slipped to her. And a few treats she just assumed were for her. Sounds like Claire and Howie will have some stuff to work out. Which probably means I'll end up holding her cheese.

That approach doesn't really work with Howie - he takes the added height as a challenge.
